Lincolnshire editorial photographer alert! I shoot editorial all over the country but here is one from just down the road. This is my picture of Red Arrows pilot Fl Lt Stew Campbell as used in The Times. My idea was to do a shot to announce the start of the new display season of the Reds and I started organising it back in December when I discovered Stew was a talented piper as well as pilot. He learnt the bagpipes growing up in Peebles where he also became fascinated by the fast jets that screamed over his classroom during sorties. During winter and spring the Red Arrows have undertaken a huge amount of practice at RAF Scampton and in Cyprus. The team are not allowed to wear their famous red flying suits until licensed for public display which I am pleased happened a few weeks before this picture was taken.
